This foundation course is designed to teach the theory required to successfully carry out carpet cleaning work in a professional manner and in compliance with best industry practice. 

Course coverage includes health and safety, fibre identification, selection of the appropriate methodology, best practice, common pitfalls and customer satisfaction. 

Course content refers to:

· Health & Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017;

·  IICRC S100 – Standard for Professional Cleaning of Textile Floor Coverings.

· AS/NZS 3733:2018 Standards New Zealand – Textile Floor Coverings – Cleaning Maintenance of Residential and Commercial Carpeting.

Given that this course is theory based, it is strongly recommended that trainees also attend the Ascend Foundation Practical Skills for Cleaning Technicians Course which is designed to supplement this course and provide practical and hands-on experience.  Trainees may also wish to attend the Ascend Foundation Advanced Stain Treatment course to be able to provide full carpet cleaning and stain removal services.
